Established in 1990 (as Carrathool Guest House) Buttercup Private Apartment offers charming accommodation for up to four people.

In the same location as the Cottage, a short drive takes you to the Delatite River at Merrijig, or to the waters of Lake Eildon at Goughs Bay. The mountains are 25 minutes away - the gateway to the Great Divide, Craig’s Hut (The Man From Snowy River film set) on Mt Stirling and Mt Buller.

Features

Couples can enjoy absolute privacy in the apartment or families with children  can use Buttercup as a base for exploring this fantastic area Craig's Hut for instance. 
 

The Lounge/Dining area

The apartment, in a colonial style, is self contained and is attached to our house with a totally private entrance. A fully equipped kitchen, 'fridge, stove and microwave oven and dishwasher  provides all you need should you choose to prepare your own dinners or use the private barbecue on the deck.

In the lounge room a Coonara wood heater keeps you cosy in winter. The reverse cycle heater/air conditioner is ideal for in-between seasonal changes and for cooling in summer. There is a CD stereo system, satellite TV reception, (52 channels), VCR, DVD and dial up internet access.

The Apartment kitchen

Each of the two bedrooms has a queen-size bed.  One can be prepared as two singles if required. A  fold out bed can be provided for a child if needed.

A bathroom with double spa bath, toilet and vanity serves both bedrooms. A selection of toys and games are on hand for the children.

The apartment also offers a washing machine and tumble drier.

Service

Should you choose our bed and breakfast tariff you will receive a menu 
with about eight choices, (some  include home made bread), prior to 
your arrival. Whatever you choose will be provided in the kitchen for 
you to cook at a time to suit yourselves. Breakfasts are very generous. 
You will definitely not be hungry.

2.5 hours from Melbourne

• From the western or northern suburbs take the Hume Freeway to the Tallarook exit. Follow signs to Yea. At Yea follows signs to Mansfield. At Mansfield follow signs to Mt Buller. At 15km mark out of Mansfield take Buttercup Rd to the left. Buttercup is 3 kms along on the left hand side.
• From the southern and eastern suburbs take the Maroondah Highway to Coldstream. At Coldstream take the Melba Highway to Yea. Follow the signs to Mansfield, then to Mt Buller. At 15km mark out of Mansfield take Buttercup Rd to the left. Buttercup is 3 kms along on the left hand side.

271 Buttercup Rd, Merrijig is 18 kms east of Mansfield on the way to Mts Buller and Stirling. 10 minutes from Mt Timbertop. 20 minutes from Lake Eildon at Goughs Bay.
